When to switch to summer tyres
The calendar doesn't decide — temperature does. Summer tyre compound goes stiff and loses grip below +7 °C. A winter tyre, in turn, wears fast in the heat.

Winter tyres are mandatory in Estonia from 1 December to 1 March. In winter road or weather conditions, the requirement can extend from 1 October to 30 April. Manufacturers recommend a winter tyre once the average daily temperature drops below +7 °C.
Wet grip measures braking distance on a wet road. The scale is A–E, where A is best. The class comes from the manufacturer's EU label and is shown on every tyre — you can also filter by it.
The minimum legal tread depth for a summer tyre is 1.6 mm. Winter tyres require 3 mm.
For example 91V: 91 is the load index (615 kg per tyre) and V is the speed rating (up to 240 km/h). Both must meet at least your car's factory specification.
