Does an all-season tyre replace a winter tyre?
The winter tyre requirement is met by a tyre that meets winter tyre requirements. Check for the 3PMSF mark and tread depth — 3 mm is required in winter.
What is the 3PMSF mark?
A three-peak-mountain-snowflake mark on the tyre's sidewall: the tyre has passed a snow traction test. M+S alone is the manufacturer's own marking, without a test.
Who is an all-season tyre suited for?
Low annual mileage and city driving. Two dedicated sets are better than one compromise in any single situation.
