What has to match
Bolt pattern (PCD)
Must match your car's hub exactly — adapters are a separate topic.
Centre bore (CB)
If the wheel bore is larger than the hub spigot, a centring ring is needed. A smaller bore does not fit at all.
ET (offset)
The wrong ET pushes the wheel either under or out of the wheel arch. The manufacturer's permitted range is usually ±5 mm from original.
Width and diameter
These decide which tyre size fits the wheel.
